Hey lovelies! Today’s post is going to be about another lipstick brand, this time we’re going to be talking about RealHer, a brand that has makeup to empower women – a message I totally want to stand behind!
RealHer donates donates 20% of all gross profits to American Association of University Women (AAUW), a non-profit organization that provides women and girls with leadership programs, education and research. RealHer is also certified by the Leaping Bunny Association, so they don’t test on animals (score)! Their lipsticks however, do contain beeswax and lanolin, so if you don’t prefer to use products that contain those types of ingredients, avoid them. All of their products are also ethically made, another plus in my book. These are the types of companies that I like to promote and stand behind because with your purchase you can make a difference. Currently, RealHer has 5 different lipstick colors available (I’m not sure if they will be adding more or other products) that will cost you $18 each, but it looks like they are currently on sale for $10.
As you can see in the pictures above, they have some pretty neat packaging. It’s not your typical lipstick packaging, and I like that! They might be a little bit bulky for some people, but I do like it – and don’t even get me started on the easy-on-the-eyes monochromatic packaging. 🙂
This first shade is called I Love Myself – the color names are meant to inspire you and give you a little bit of a happy push, ya feel? They describe this as a nude color, nothing too fancy. It is a matte lipstick, but it does have shine to it too (like a moisturizing look, because it is a moisturizing lipstick afterall). It kind of reminds me of Naked Dolly from Too Faced but it a little more pigmented, since Naked Dolly is a lighter lipstick.
This next one is called I Define Beauty Myself and is a gorgeous mauve color. Can I just add, I love the logo stamp into the lipstick? I think it adds a very nice touch to the overall product. Anyways, again, matte-like finish with some moisturizing effect (I also didn’t let these dry down on my lips, so maybe they dry down matte!) I think this might be my fall staple this year…
This is a true barbie pink! This is called Women Rule the World. I must admit, I do love the name. I wouldn’t call this an everyday color, unless that’s your thing. This lip color though would be perfect for the girly-girl in you.
This gorgeous red is called Be Yourself Be RealHer, I like the play on words for this one. This color is definitely that statement classic red that Taylor Swift loved to rock. I also reallllly like this red because it seems to have blue undertones so it will make your teeth appear whiter and I think it looks better on me than warm toned red lipsticks, because I do have cool undertones.
And lastly, this gorgeous brown-red wine color. I am Powerful is a color you will definitely grab to wear this fall and on days when you are feeling powerful and like nothing will or can bring you down. Honestly, this might be my favorite from the collection but I’m not sure how much I would actually wear it since it may be too dark for me (but it can still be my favorite, right? Right).
Here are swatches of all the lipsticks in natural lighting!
Here are all of the swatches on my lips, see how they still have a little bit of shine in the light? I’m sure if you wanted a complete matte look, you could add a translucent powder to mattify them, but I actually really like the finish of these lipsticks. They definitely moisturize your lips (well, I hope they would since they have 4 ingredients in them to help keep them soft + moisturized). Again, I don’t know the staying power of them or if they’re transfer proof since I took the swatch photos and that was it (I don’t really wear makeup at work and that’s usually where I am when I’m not on my laptop). I can’t wait to keep using these those and include them in some of my future posts!
What do you think about these lipsticks? Do you love them too? Let me know in the comments below!
Thanks for reading, as always <3
Xoxo, Rae
