Hey guys! I’m going to try to post more often now that I have some time to actually sit down and focus on one thing at a time, so here is my December favorites, makeup edition. I hope you enjoy!
I’m not a huge makeup wearer, usually just mascara, but lately I’ve been trying to get out of my comfort zone and experiment with makeup. No matter how many times I watch “how to” YouTube videos, I still can’t get my eye shadow right or my winged liner right, but practice makes perfect right?
I used to never wear lip colors, but a few of my suite mates have made me interested in trying them. I started with some the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams and liked them and I use them occasionally, but the lip product pictured above totally beats NYX in quality and color payoff. My sister received this sample of theBalm Meet Matte Hughes in Committed from Ipsy and decided to give it to me since it didn’t suit her well. (I’m really glad it didn’t cause it looks great on me!) This has a minty smell and taste and sort of tingles (in a good way) when applying. It remains tacky until fully dry and has good color coverage and stays on your lips for a while. It’s also not drying like I’ve found the NYX lip creams. Would recommend this product for anyone looking for a new liquid lipstick to try.
My lips get super chapped so I always need to have lip balm on me. For whatever reason, I cannot use Blistex since it always irritates my lips by giving me a rash or cold sores. For that reason, I opted for Carmex . This stuff is so soothing on the lips and will instantly revitalize your cracked, dry lips. It does have an unpleasant smell and taste and looks super glossy on your lips, but it’s totally worth it.
Since I normally only wear mascara I need one that’s going to make my lashes pop.Long Sexy Lashes Lengthening Mascara is such a great mascara and its cruelty free. The packaging is cute and sleek and the brush of the mascara evenly coats lashes and adds lots of length to your lashes. I will definitely be rebuying this product when I run out.
I think everyone should have a set of good brushes, ones that aren’t too expensive but they would get the job done. I had received a coupon for the Real Techniques brushes from my Walmart box (I believe it was a dollar off…) so I picked up real Techniques Core Collection Set pack of their brushes. The brushes are so soft and easy to use. I use the buffing brush with my bareminerals, it applies the foundation very nicely and helps with buffing it into the skin.
Since I’m so pale, I can never find a liquid foundation to match my skin. Its rather frustrating but then again, I don’t really need anything full coverage but it would be nice to be able to just go to the drugstore and pick one out and have it be the perfect shade (am I the only one who feels this way?) I went to Sephora to get colored matched for bareminerals original foundation, I’m in the shade fair and I think it’s the perfect color for me. It applies easily and you don’t need a lot of product to have that “no makeup-makeup look”. Love love love this stuff!
Lastly, brows are very important. I have fairly thick brows, but they are dirty blonde in color. I’ve been debtating on getting them tinted since it’s hard to find a match to their color and I’m totally digging the bold dark brows with blonde hair. I ran out of my favorite eyebrow pencil that Revlon doesn’t make anymore and wanted to try something like Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade but obviously didn’t want to spend a lot on it. I picked up Milani Stay Put Brow Color from CVS. The product pot looks large but you really don’t get a lot of product with it sadly. I got the shade Natural and it works nicely with my brows. It comes with a double-ended brush for easy application. I’m not a fan of the spooley brush that it comes with, so I use mine that came in one of my bhcosmetics brush sets. I really enjoy this stuff and it’s really use to and build up a nice looking brow.
Well that’s all for today! I hope you enjoyed the post and maybe I gave you some suggestions for some new products.
Let me know in the comments if you’ve used any of these before or what you would like to try ☺

After I get my brows shaped, I might invest in it just to try it out.
