Happy New Year! We got snow today so that’s always nice to look at, although I hate having to shovel it. For today’s post I wanted to share with you guys some of my winter clothing essentials.
1.) Chunky knit scarf – Scarves can dress up or dress down outfits, which is one of the reasons why I love them. I personally love chunky knit ones in the winter cause they keep me warm and can also double as a headrest in class (shh…don’t tell my professors that!) I have one that I knit for myself and its so cozy and oversized.
2.) A white v-neck – White t-shirts are an essential for any season. I included one in this post though because they’re easy to layer up, by wearing a bralette underneath it or adding a flannel on top of it. I love wearing v-necks then adding a patterned scarf on top so I look a little bit more put together. They’re super easy to style which is one you NEED one…or ten!
3.) Long, oversized cardigan – I love clothes that I swim in (by that I mean they’re way too big). There’s just something about the look of it, like hobo-chic haha. But I think it makes you look cozy and comfy, and that’s what your style should really be about, right? I love the marled burgundy one pictured above, especially because it has pockets! Cardigans are a must, especially for the cold weather. They’re easy to layer with and go with pretty much any outfit. (They’re a staple in my closet!)
4.) Dark Wash/Black high waisted jeans – I love love love jeans. Everyone says how much they hate them since they’re uncomfortable, but they go with anything and can make your outfit look casual or dressy, depending on how you style them.
5.) Beanie – Beanies are amazing. You can easily hide your bedhead or two-day hair which is why I love them. They’re easily to style with and can make your morning easier since you don’t have to dry shampoo since your roots will be covered, no one will know 😉
6.) Boot socks – I’m such a sock person. I asked for socks for Christmas and got so many pairs (yay!!) I love wearing combat boots as well as knee high boots and I think they don’t look 100% right without a pair of socks sticking out (is that just me? I hope not…) I have a pair of lace edged socks that look great with my boots!
7.) Heeled booties – Booties are a staple, you need at least one pair (but I totally won’t judge if you have more…) I personally love the ones pictured above because they aren’t too high and the heel is thick enough so they would be easier to walk in rather than stiletto heels. I also like the lace detail and feel that it would tie your look together (haha, get it??)
Well that’s all! I hope you enjoyed the post and got some inspiration if you do a little shopping for clothes before it’s full on winter 🙂
Thanks for reading! Let me know in the comments what your winter clothing essentials are! 🙂
XOXO, Rae
