If you don’t have an AdBlocker on your computer, you probably get swamped with tons of ads for online stores like Romwe, Zaful and others, that show clothing at insanely low prices. Or maybe you’re a YouTube junkie and see tons of girls that you’re subscribed to promote these stores – but here’s why you should avoid them.
I’m not going to lie to you and say that I’ve never purchased from sites like this – because I have and I honestly wasn’t pleased with my purchase. Back in December, I made a video of a Romwe haul of a few items that I got. I spent a lot of money to get clothes that were low quality, but I mean, what can you expect when you pay $8 for a shirt from an Asian website? Here’s why I won’t be purchasing from these sites again:
You never know what you’re going to get.
I bet you’ve heard or seen the horror stories of customers who received a clothing item that looked nothing like the picture – this happened to me too. I was supposed to get what looked like a nice cotton v-neck backed dress, but instead I got a super see through dress that didn’t look like it did on the model – it honestly looked like a nightgown on me and I ended up donating it because I was so disappointed and the return policy was too much of a pain to go through. This was from a purchase I made on Romwe and Romwe doesn’t have customer reviews on the clothes like Zaful does, so be advised when purchasing from Romwe.
Quality.
Although it may seem worth it to get a bunch of cheap clothes to fill up your wardrobe, it’s probably not the best idea due to the quality of the clothes that you’ll receive. Some of the items smell awful and the smell doesn’t disappear after washing the garments multiple times (maybe that was just in my case, but whatever). Most of the items you get are probably going to be see through, so they won’t be practical to wear in public – I mean, unless that’s your thing. I would avoid light colored garments from stores like these, because you probably won’t be able to wear them out. (But that’s just my opinion…)
Sizing.
Sizing was an absolute nightmare when making my purchase. All of the garments had different measurements and sometimes my normal size wasn’t big enough for me, so I had to size up. Most people who are normally a medium in normal clothing sizes have to go up to a large or extra large because their clothing dimensions are meant for Asian girls (which are a lot smaller than typical US sizes). Some of their stuff is one size fits all too, and I got one of these items and it’s huge on me, unfortunately. Be cautious of sizing and size up if you’re planning on making a purchase with a site like this.
If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
This goes back to quality. How is it that you can get a super cute 2 pc bikini for under $15? Something seems fishy here… A lot of their swimsuits and other clothing items are knockoff or “dupes” of well known brands, which is actually illegal (but I’m juuuust saying). I’ve spotted some duplications of Victoria’s Secret swimsuits and Triangl swimsuits. To be honest, I would just rather pay more and get the quality that I could actually use for swimming or daily use.
Overall, I personally wouldn’t buy from sites like these ever again. I feel like it’s too much of a gamble, since most people who make purchases never receive what they bought, and customer service doesn’t do anything to help them. I guess take my advice with a grain of salt – and avoid online stores like this!
I hope you enjoyed the post and learned a little something from it.

So true! I was about to make a purchase on Romwe one time.. Thank god I read reviews of the site before buying!
