Many people don’t realize that the way they see themselves greatly affects their lives. If you see yourself as not worthy or not good enough, you’ll see that reflected in your life. You’ll miss out on promotions and increases in salary. You might even have relationship troubles all your life. Our outer world really does reflect our inner world. Improving your body image could help you to see yourself in a new light. When you do this, you could find your life improves in so many different ways! Here’s how to go about it…
Flip Everything You Believe
Maybe you’ve believed that you’re just not an exercise person for a long time. Or maybe you believe that you’re not a healthy food person. Whatever you believe, find out where that belief came from. Then flip it! Maybe it was something a parent said to you when you were young. Maybe it’s something you thought once after a particularly tough sports day, and stuck to ever since. The truth is, just because we believe something, doesn’t make it true. You are so capable of running and exercising and enjoying it. Same goes for healthy foods! In fact, if you look for evidence that the opposite is true, you’ll probably find it. When you change your focus, you’ll be shocked at how much can change.
Find Things You Love About Yourself
Find absolutely anything you love about yourself and focus on it. Don’t focus on the things you don’t like right now, or else you’ll get more of the same. We get more of what we focus on. When you focus on your best bits, you’ll find even more things you like. Have fun with it and do it regularly!
Block Negative Energy
Maybe there’s a particular person who brings you down. Maybe they make remarks that hurt you. Whoever it is and whatever they say, learn how to block negative energy. You can do this by simply imagining their comment bounce off you, like rubber. Just because somebody makes a comment, does not make it true. It doesn’t mean you need to take it in either! That isn’t to say you should stick with these people – distance yourself if it makes you feel better. However, knowing how to protect yourself will be a big help.
Take Care Of Your Body
The more you take care of your body, the better you’ll feel. Nourish it with great food. Get moving. File your nails, apply moisturiser, get plenty of sleep. Do things that make you feel great. If you’re in the right frame of mind, improving your body image could even mean having treatments/surgery. However, you must be in the right frame of mind for this. Some people have one procedure and it absolutely changes their body image. Others can’t stop because they haven’t addressed the root of the problem. A place like Bel Red Cosmetic Surgery Center should give you some help.
Stay Away From The Media
The media can be a very negative thing to focus on. We see celebrities body shamed day in, day out. We see what we’re ‘supposed’ to look like. It’s all too easy to start comparing yourself. Avoiding negative media outlets will help you. Also, know that somebody else’s beauty does not take away from your own!
