I’m totally digging doing videos lately, since I feel like its a little bit easier to share my opinion/show you guys that I’m actually using the product rather than just writing about it.
Today, I do a first impressions/review of the ColourPop Lippie Stix in , & (which are all gorgeous colors). Watch the video above to hear my opinion or keep reading for a more detailed review 🙂
I have used NYX’s soft matte lip creams but I’ve noticed that the lip creams don’t last very long, which is annoying. They apply smoothly but just don’t do the job well in my opinion. That’s why I wanted to try out the lippie stix to see if they would be something I’d like. ColourPop also has liquid matte lipsticks which I will definitely be trying in the future and all of their products are super affordable, cruelty free & made in the USA (what a freakin’ deal).
I like the way that these sticks are shaped, they are kind of angled so you get a flat edge and and angled edge. The angled edge is awesome for lining your lips – no need to buy a separate product for that! Then the flat edge will give you a seamless application. HOLY MOLY are these things pigmented and they apply so smoothly (*drool*). I would just be super careful with the darker shades though, since they do stain a little bit and are somewhat difficult to remove – but that’s a good thing, the color won’t leave your lips which is what you want in a lipstick, am I right? Thought so. 😉 Now onto the colors…
So Tootsi is a very pretty mauvey-nude and will definitely be my go to shade. I think it compliments my complexion well and I’m sure it would compliment any skin tone to be honest. I think there colors are made with all different shades of skins kept in mind. Totally recommend this color if you’re looking for a new matte nude color!
Silk is a purple/berry color but is also on the dark wine scale (you get what I’m layin’ down here?) This is the color that I had a little trouble with it getting everywhere. I looked at the lipstick tube and low and behold, it was covered in product (my own fault for cleaning up my lip color with my fingers). I really liked this color since it was something I’m not used to wearing, very deep and pigmented and also flattering. I think this would be an amazing color for winter, so go try it out, you won’t regret it.
Then lastly, Dalia. Dalia is a GORGEOUS deep wine red color, total vamp babe status. I think this color is amazing and I can’t wait to wear it more often. Totally a great color for pale chickas, especially if you want to go outside of your comfort zone (plus winter totally calls for these deep sultry colors). I didn’t have much trouble with this one staining, this one didn’t apply as creamy as the others but it was still a smooth and non-patchy application. Loooove this color (if you couldn’t tell)!
The final verdict: HELL FREAKIN’ YEAH! These lipsticks are so pigmented and freakin’ awesome. I want every. single. color. in every single finish! I love matte products but I would love to try their different finishes too, especially Kathleen Lights new lip colors! This was such a great first impression that I can’t wait to try their eyeshadows and other products too.
Thanks for reading! Hope you enjoyed the post/video 🙂
