It’s been a little bit since my last cruelty free on a budget post, so here’s a new one for you! I think I might do these about every other week, I have roughly about 3 more posts in this series to do. Today is all about LIPS! Bold lip colors have been trending lately and I’ve been getting into wearing lipsticks more often and loving it. Here are some budget friendly lip care items that you’ll love!
Lasting Smiles (Peppermint Creme pictured above) $3.99
I got this lip balm in my January ipsy glam bag and I fell in love. It’s cruelty free and 100% vegetarian (they unfortunately use beeswax). They are free from gluten, parabens, alcohol (which would dry out your lips), and do not contain some sodium-somenameIcan’tpronounce stuff. (If you can’t say it, it’s probably not a good thing to be putting on your face? At least I heard that somewhere. THIS LIP BALM IS AMAZING but it gets even better. Its for SUCH a great cause. With every 1,000 lip balms sold, a child receives the gift of a cleft lip or cleft palate surgery in the same countries that they get their ingredients from. If you don’t think that’s amazing/cool then I don’t know what is. These lip balms retail for $3.99 at Target, it might be more than your usual lip balm but think about it…cruelty free & for a great cause. I will never buy another lip balm brand again!
ColourPop (Lumiere 2 pictured above) $5-$6
I’ve mentioned ColourPop a lot, but I really like their brand and their products. ColourPop has numerous lip products in lots of different colors. (They are also launching a new product on the 24th of February and I need to get my hands on some!) They have Ultra Matte Lips which are liquid lipsticks, they have Lippie Stix which are lipsticks in stick form that come in different finishes, they have lipliners to compliment their Ultra Matte Lips and Lippie Stix colors AND they are coming out with Ultra Satin Lips this month which I’ve heard are going to be great and I can’t wait. Their products range from $5-$8, but don’t let that fool you – they are great products for the price, even better products for the price! I highly recommend ColourPop if you are looking for some great lip products.
elf cosmetics (Mulberry Maven pictured above) $3.00
Just like I’ve mentioned ColourPop a lot, elf is another brand that has shown up quite frequently in this series. elf has loads of lip products – from exfoliators, lip sticks, matte lipsticks and glosses. They also have great color selections and their products are so affordable and I’m 99.9% sure that all of their products are vegan and if not, then they are 100% cruelty free. elf is a great brand if you want some new lip stick shades without spending a fortune.
Lush (None of Your Beeswax & Mint Julips scrub pictured above)
Lush is an amazing company that provides natural products. Not all of their products are vegan but they are cruelty free (which is obviously the whole point). They pretty much have everything you could ever need for beauty purposes, some are a little expensive but that’s fine by me. They have different types of lip balms, lip tints, lip scrubs and lipsticks (which retail at $20 – so that’s not too budget friendly). I like Lush’s products more for lip maintenance rather than beauty purposes. They have amazing lip scrubs (or you could DIY one) and their lip balms look great, which will keep your lips looking plush and kissable, especially for those liquid lipsticks.
NYX (Liquid Suede Lipstick in Soft Spoken pictured above) $7.00
Some people prefer not to shop cruelty free brands that are owned by parent companies who aren’t cruelty free, but I decided to add NYX onto this list anyways because I’m sure some feel indifferent about the subject. NYX has loads of products and they are all at a great price (although some of their newer products are getting somewhat pricey). I like NYX’s soft matte lip creams for my everyday lips (I usually use Stockholm). They are really creamy on the lips, dry matte but don’t leave your lips feeling like a shriveled prune. They have lipsticks, liquid lipsticks, chubby lip pens, lipliners, lip glosses, lip balms, lip plumpers, lip primers and lip removers. Basically, they have it all. Their prices are good to stock up as well and to help build your collection!
wet N wild (Megalast Lipstick in Wine Room pictured above) $1.99
Wet N Wild is EXTREMELY affordable and they have some pretty great products. I love their lip products and own quite a few of their lipsticks. I do have the one pictured above and I love it’s semi-matte finish (could be fully matte with some translucent powder on top). They have a great selection of colors and different types of lipsticks, lip liners, lip glosses and lip stains.
Pacifica (Nudie Red pictured above) $10
I love Pacifica and their products. This is a vegan brand that carries lots of different products ranging from makeup, body care, skincare and now they even have candles. Their products are great and will fit your budget so you won’t regret buying them. They have different shades of lipsticks and I guarantee you will definitely find one you like. They have lip balms, lipsticks, lip glosses, lip butters and lip tints. Their products are a *little* bit pricier but I think it’s worth it, especially because the lipstick pictured above is in a 100% recyclable tube!
How did you guys like this post? Did you learn anything new? Did you read the last posts? Are you wanting to try any of these out? Let me know in the comments below, I love feedback!!!
Thanks for reading!

(This post is not sponsored. All products that I have tried were purchased with my own money. I created this series to inform others that it is not hard or expensive to go cruelty free.)
This was a super helpful post, and I’m happy to see a lot of the products I love and use on the list! Great post! XO -Kim
