We are now halfway through October, which means December will be here before we know it! And December will bring lots of Christmas parties and meals out! Maybe your company hosts an annual office Christmas party? Or perhaps you always go out for a meal with your friends? However you celebrate the festive season, you will have to make sure you get your Christmas makeup spot on so that you stand out from the crowd! Get the glitter and sparkles ready; here is how to ace your Christmas makeup.
Illuminate Your Cheeks
Christmas is all about glitz and sparkle. You will want your makeup to match this; it shouldn’t be matte or dull. The first place to start is with your skin. You need to illuminate your cheeks and help brighten them up. Christmas makeup shouldn’t be natural, but be careful that you don’t overdo it. Otherwise, your skin could end up looking oily and greasy! Make sure you use a foundation that matches your skin tone and has a shiny finish. You should also invest in a highlighter as this can really help to enhance your cheekbones.
Poppin’ Eyes
Make sure your Christmas makeup is highlighting your eyes and letting them pop out! These are a great area where you can go to town with all the glitter and sparkles! Find a palette of eyeshadows rather than buying individual ones. Not only are palettes usually cheaper than buying lots of individual colors, but you can be sure all the colors complement each other. You can browse through different eyeshadow palettes on sites such as the Tropic Skincare online store. Try and find a eyeshadow that has a hint of glitter in it for some extra Christmas glamor. (I personally love the Carli Bybel palette, cause it has everything you need to create a great look!)
Get The Pout
Let’s not forget about lips either. Now isn’t the time to stick to neutral shimmer. Bold reds are perfect for brightening up your winter makeup! It doesn’t really matter whether you go with lipstick or gloss; whichever you feel more comfortable with! Dark shades of purple and berry tones are popular in autumn. However, many people eschew these at Christmas because they think they are too dark for the festive season. But these dark tones can really help you stand out against all the shiny sparkles so don’t be afraid of using them. Opt for a gloss rather than a matte lipstick if you don’t want to be too over the top.
Don’t forget about your nails! These are another way you can add some festive fun to your overall outfit. You could visit your local nail salon and see if they could apply some fancy festive-themed nail art. If you don’t have much time, just grab a bottle of glitter nail varnish. You can’t go too overboard on the festive sparkle! It’s a good idea to take a small bottle of clear nail polish out with you in your bag. If you accidently ladder your tights, apply a small amount of polish onto the ladder. This will prevent it getting worse through the night!
I hope you enjoyed the post and that it will help you in the upcoming holiday season! Are you going to go natural or go glamorous this year? Let me know <3
