Hey guys, how was your Friday? I guess mine was pretty good, would have been better if I could have stayed in bed all day but unforunately I couldn’t. I woke up around 9:15ish am, then proceeded to lay in bed and play on my phone until about 10:20 (I TOTALLY LOST TRACK OF TIME). I started to get ready for the day and spent a lot of time on my makeup since I had extra time that morning, my class didn’t start till 12:30. I watched some YouTube videos while getting ready and then headed to the dining hall on campus for around 11:30ish. I ate a rather unhealthy meal (I don’t like the food here, so I opt for pizza and other bad options). I went to my Typography class that lasts about 3 hours then stopped at my mail box before coming back to my room. I had a package from ColourPop and I immediately started drooling! (Look for a ColourPop Haul/Swatch post sometime next week). I went back to my room and relaxed for a little bit before hopping in my car to go meet up with my sister at UNOS.
I’m living on campus at the moment, so I don’t talk to my mom or sister as much as I’m used to so it was nice to get to catch up with her, especially since she just returned from a week long trip in Florida. I got a raspberry lemonade and the fireball whisky bbq chicken melt (omg, it was to die for). We ended our early dinner with a deep dish sundae then headed to TJ Maxx for a little retail therapy.
I love TJ Maxx and Marshalls. I usually end up with about 50 pieces of clothing on my arm before heading to the dressing room, then after trying it all on I only end up liking about 3 of the things I grabbed. Does this happen to anyone else? I feel like everything always looks better on the rack. Plus, I’ve noticed that it’s common for clothing to be so see-through lately and I hate that. Anyways, I did end up finding some goodies, so here they are…
The first thing I got was this BDG green, navy blue & grey button up t-shirt that resembles a flannel. It is on the longer side, but I’m all about that hobo-chic look so I don’t mind it. It’s a soft cotton material, so not a traditional flannel. I think this would look really cute paired with a pair of leggings (since it is long enough to cover your butt) with a v-neck tank or shirt and a pair of vans or the ever so popular white converse. I picked this bad boy up for $9.99.
The second thing I got was this super flowy & deep v-neck black tank. It also has a super low cut back and is sort of see-through, but I just thought it was too cute to pass up. I could see this as a beach coverup (but when do I ever go to the beach?) or it would be great to pair with a thick lace bralette (since it is so low cut). This tank could pretty much go with anything and I paid $6.99 for it.
The next thing I got is this super flowy & soft v-neck tank that’s in a soft charcoal color. I’ve never really seen v-neck tanks (unless I’ve been looking in the wrong places my whole life) so I was pumped to see this. I think it’s super cute and could go with numerous outfits, I think I’ll probably be pairing it with the plaid/flannel button up that I mentioned above. This is from the same brand as the one above, Tresics, and it was also $6.99
My style is obviously very diverse. Somedays I want to wear all black and somedays I want to show that I can still be feminine too. I saw this shirt and immediately fell in love before even trying it on. The print is so cute I can’t handle it. I love the muted tones of the floral print and the main color is black, which literally goes with everything. This is a v-neck blouse/top/thing that has two layers, a sheer black one that is a little bit longer than the top. It’s really flattering on and looks great with a cardigan over it. Would also be great on it’s own! This is from the brand Sienna Sky and was $12.99
So here are some things that I picked up that weren’t clothing related. I really didn’t realize how much stuff TJ Maxx had, it was incredible.
I usually take my eye makeup off with a cotton round and coconut oil and love that method, but since I wore a full face of liquid foundation today, I didn’t want to put coconut oil all over my face especially because I’ve been having a lot of minor break outs lately. I was planning on getting makeup remover wipes anyways and saw these in the cosmetics section of the store. I’ve wanted to try these ones out but didn’t feel like committing to a full pack so I bought this 10-wipe pack of the alba botanical facial towelettes for $1.99. (I must say, I really like them so far so I probably will invest in the larger size. The cloths are SO soft on my skin. I love them.)
I’m really addicted to makeup…it’s a serious problem, but no, I don’t need help…yet. Since I’ve yet to find a cruelty free mascara that I *love* yet that also fits my budget, I wanted to try out one of elfs mascaras. They had a few different kinds of their mascara but I wanted something that would lengthen and add volume to my lashes in one so I grabbed this one for $2.39 (not much less than how much they cost at CVS). I haven’t tried it out yet, but the brush kind of scares me since the bristles are spaced far apart, and that usually means clump city. The handle of the wand is also very long and the part with the product is tiny…I’ll update you and see how it goes babes.
Lastly, I saw these K-Cups and sort of gasped. Coconut and mocha are my two favorite coffee flavors, and they are together. as one. in k-cup form. Am I dreaming? I still don’t know yet. I’m super excited to try these out and they only cost me $7.99 and they are $10.99 at Target, so I saved $3. I’m hoping these are good, my sister said they were so fingers crossed.
I also picked up a new body wash (I forgot to picture it). It’s from the brand Everyday Coconut and is in the scent coconut mint…holy crap. I love anything mint and if I can smell like a mint, I’m all over that. Mint just puts me in a better mood, aromatherapy at it’s finest. (I want one of those aroma diffusers!) I used it tonight in the shower and ugh. It’s my new favorite. It retails for $12.99, but I paid $4.50 for it cause it was on clearance. It’s cruelty free, natural and had a whole bunch more of goodness written all over the label. I might have to go back and pick up the rest of them that were on clearance cause I like it that much.
So that’s about all for my Friday night. After I got back, I hung up my new clothes after photographing them all for you. I took a shower, watched some YouTube videos, ate some chocolate with my suitemate Melanie and I’m already ready for bed at 10:27 pm. I am a literal grandma.
