Zabana Essentials Haul + Mini Review

by

zabana1

Hey loves! It’s been a little while since I did my last haul and I’ve been promising on instagram that this one would be up soon (I’m just terrible at procrastinating, y’know!!)

So finally, it’s here! Let me tell you a little about Zabana Essentials. Zabana has 100% natural and vegan cosmetics that are handcrafted in California (I love stuff that’s made in the USA!) They have a range of products, like deodorants, a face serum, dry shampoo and even an armpit detox bar (say whaaa?!) I’ve been trying these out over the past few weeks & I’m hooked, so keep on reading to see what I got and what I like about them!

I’m a sucker for anything mini sized and also natural deodorants! I was intrigued by the fragrances they have available and how some are baking soda free (which I need since baking soda irritates the crap outta me). These definitely aren’t your typical natural deo smells and I love that. I picked up Lime Berry Basil  and Sage Blood Orange. These are the perfect size to shove in your purse or backpack! I currently have the Lime Berry Basil one in my locker at work and I love freshening up with it, it smells so goooood. I do recommend these if you’re looking for a new natural deo or just want to stock up on some minis! (Plus! They’d be a great gift for someone who wants to delve into the natural deo/green beauty world *hint hint*)

I live off of dry shampoo and don’t know what I would do without it. I haven’t tried a powder dry shampoo so that’s really why I picked this up! Plus, the scent caught my eye. It’s really easy to use – just sprinkle some on, let it sit then style per usual. (They recommend using a ‘natural bristled brush’ but I just use my regular hairbrush and it works fine. I also like to rub it in with my fingers). It smells great and does a really good job at making my hair look like it was just washed. I dooooo recommend!

I wanted to try out their face sprays so I got both of the ones that they offer. Lavender Lemongrass is for combo + oily skin and helps to detoxify and balance the skin. Citron Blossom is for all skin types and brightens and rejuvenates the skin. I use one or the other depending on my face issues. Usually I like to use the Citron Blossom one before putting on my makeup to help get it ready for application. If you want, you can also use these as a cleanser (sort of) – just spray it on then use a cotton round to remove excess dirt and oil. I love that these are in glass bottles so I can reuse them when I finish them off! I really like these and do recommend them as well.

Then lastly, the Armpit Detox Bar! When using natural deo (or transitioning into natural deo), you may find that you don’t smell as fresh or that it’s not working…that’s why you need to detox yo’ pits! This is made with Coconut, Charcoal and Clay so it’ll really suck out all the junk stuck in your pit pores and leave you with squeaky clean pits 🙂 They say to wet the bar, lather it in your hands, rub the lather in your pits then let it sit for 2-3 minutes then rinse off. I have noticed a difference when using this – I smell fresher for longer and I just feel more comfortable wearing natural deodorant when I use it. It’s definitely a must have for natural deo users, so get one stat!

Overall, I was super pleased with my first purchase from Zabana. They have amazing cruelty free, vegan + natural products and I can’t wait to try out all of the other stuff they have to offer. Do you want to try out Zabana Essentials? Let me know!

Thanks for reading, as always <3

My Beauty Wishlist | Summer 2016

by

beautywishlist

I usually impulsively buy things for no reason, so I’m trying to be good and keeping wishlists so I can buy stuff for when I run out of the items I’m already using, even though this wishlist doesn’t really include anything I use daily, but you know what I mean, right? I also just like wishlist posts so I can see what other people are lusting after, I find that it usually introduces me to new brands and products, so without further adieu, let’s get wishin’!

Freeman Charcoal & Black Sugar Mud Mask

I’ve been going a lil’ mask crazy lately because I’ve been having a lot of hormonal breakouts (due to my birth control), so I’ll try anything that I think would help. This mask from Freeman is supposedly a dupe/alternative to the GlamGlow Super-Mud mask so I would like to try it out because GlamGlow isn’t cruelty free (as far as I know) and it’s way more affordable than the $70 mask. I’m hoping to go to an Ulta by me soon to check this out and some other masks. I just really haven’t found anything yet that’s really cleared up my skin so I’m hoping if I try this someday, it’ll do the job.

Wet n Wild Fan Brush

I’ve heard a lot of people raving about the Wet n Wild brushes, I just never got around to purchasing them. I want this fan brush to apply highlighter, because fan brushes are the ones that people seem to be using for highlighting, I honestly just use my finger, but I want to try something new. I also thought why not give this brush a try? Because it’s under $5, so you really can’t go wrong.

Kat Von D Lock-it Concealer in White Out (Or my shade)

Everyone’s been going crazy about Kat’s new release and I’m so full of envy when I see people on Snapchat open their PR packages from her haha. I think white concealer is unique (I’ve personally never seen it before) and I wonder if it would actually work for me, since I’m so light. I am kind of afraid to leap in and get the white, incase it doesn’t work out for me, so maybe I would grab the proper shade for me. By the product picture, it looks like I’d love the type of applicator it has since it’s not a normal dove foot (maybe I’m just making things up? Who knows). It’s a pretty pricey concealer but I’m just curious to see how it would work out!

Zabana Essentials Lavender Lemongrass Face & Body Tonic

I haven’t tried anything from Zabana Essentials, but I was browsing their website, and I want it all! They have two different types of face & body tonics, and I think the Lavender Lemongrass one would be best for me since it’s a balancing + detoxifying one (The other one is a brightening + rejuvenating one…but maybe I should just get both and get the best of both worlds.)

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea H20 Hydrating Boost

This is a gel-like moisturizer and I love it. I got a sample in a discovery set from Sephora with some other Rainforest of the Sea goodies. It’s super hydrating and doesn’t irritate my skin or clog my pores. My face also doesn’t feel sticky after using it, like other moisturizers do. It is quite pricey ($40), but I do like it. (If you know of any cheaper alternatives, let me know!)

Zabana Essentials Facial Steamer

I think this product is a cool concept, and again, I’ll try anything to try to clear up my skin! You add one steamer (I think) to a bowl of hot water and drape a towel over your head to let the steam open your pores, so the steamer can do it’s job. I feel like this would be super relaxing on a pampering night and I realllllly want to try these out asap!

Yet Another Pacifica Haul…

by

pacificaskincareI bet you’re wondering…Raeanne, how is your spending ban going? Well…let’s just not talk about that for now.

I was seriously so excited when I found out that Pacifica (my favorite skincare brand) was coming out with some new products so naturally, I just had to pick up a few…what’s the harm in that, right? I didn’t pick up too much, just a few new things to try out.

hotveganmask2

First up is this Hot Vegan mask. I was influenced by Rhian HY to pick it up and I’m so glad I did. I love Pacifica’s masks because they’re clear, so you can walk around your house and not be stared at… I was a little bit worried by the product name, I thought it was going to be a hot mask, but it wasn’t. I actually really enjoyed this mask and it did relax my skin. If you have sensitive skin, I do recommend! They even say that you can use this mask everyday.hotveganmask

coconutshavewhip2

Here’s something that’s completely new to Pacifica – shave whips! They have a few different scents, but of course I went for coconut milk because I’m coocoo for coconuts (haha, get it?) But really though, just look at the packaging! Clearly, I’m drawn to products in blue packaging. I have not used this yet, so I’m not sure what to expect but I will keep you updated on Instagram (and maybe Twitter) so make sure to follow my accounts! coconutshavewhipcoconutmicellarwater2

And lastly, I picked up the Coconut Water Micellar Cleansing Tonic. I already own the Cactus Water version, which I’ve talked about in past posts. I do enjoy it but find that it can be a little harsh on my skin so that’s why I was happy to see this one! It’s just like the mask and is “targeted” towards stressed skin, but can be used for all skin types. I bought this to replace the Cactus Water one once I’m all done with it. Haven’t tried it yet but I’m sure I will love it!coconutmicellarwater

I definitely want to try out some of Pacifica’s other products, like maybe something from their hair care line or maybe some fragrances.

What’s your favorite product from Pacifica, or have you never tried them before? Let me know in the comments below!
