Valentia Night Revive Retinol Serum *

Hey loves! Time for another review from Valentia! I love Valentia’s skincare products so I was really excited to try out the Night Revive Retinol Serum. Although I am young, I still have wrinkles and one smile line that really bothers me lately, so I’m happy that this serum has retinol in it to help collagen production to reduce wrinkles. I honestly think preventative care is best (whether that be to prevent pregnancies, tons of advil & water to avoid a hangover or starting with wrinkle treatments earlier!)

Valentia is a skincare line, by women for everyone! All of their products are cruelty free and made with natural ingredients. I’m pretty sure all of their products are vegan (don’t quote me on this though) as well and they use sustainable energy to produce all of their products.

A potent blend of Retinol, with essential vitamins and botanicals specifically chosen to enhance Retinols efficacy work together to create the serum your skin care dreams are made of. Retinol works down to the cellular level to stimulate collagen production and diminish even the deepest of wrinkles. Vitamin C helps Retinol penetrate deeper into the skin, while Vitamin E and Squalane nourish and hydrate, counteracting the drying effects of Retinol and maximizing anti-aging benefits. This transformative retinol serum will turn back the clock, giving you visibly smoother, rejuvenated skin.

Short term results:

  • conditions and nourishes skin
  • manages breakouts
  • more luminous complexion

Long term results:

  • evens skin discoloration
  • stimulates collagen production
  • diminishes fine lines & wrinkles

It’s really liquidy like you can see in the picture, but absorbs nicely into the skin! You can see the glow it gave my hand already, haha.

So, to use:

Shake lightly. Apply to face and neck after cleansing, before moisturizer.

After I cleanse my face, I’ve been applying it to my face like it says. I apply it in an upwards motion, away from the face to prevent anymore wrinkles or skin pulling! After I apply it all over my face, I lightly tap it in then I go to bed. Since retinol can make your skin extra sensitive to the sun, definitely use an SPF the following morning! I have sensitive skin so I use this once a week, which seems to work for me. I have noticed a nicer complexion. My fine lines (the few I have) have been starting to disappear and haven’t become as noticable. I’ve also noticed my face looking healthier, if that makes any sense. (Do I ever make sense?!) It definitely isn’t greasy feeling and doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. It’s actually kind of nice to give myself a mini facial before bed 🙂

Born This Way Foundation Review

by

btwfoundation

Hey loves! I’ve been meaning to get this up but never got around to it ’cause I suck big time. Anyways, a little bit ago I did a Too Faced Haul and got the Born This Way foundation in the color snow! I used to use the Tarte Rainforest of the sea but wanted something with more coverage and this was calling my name. This foundation is $39 for 1 fluid ounce and comes in a decent amount of shades, although the lightest shade (snow) was still not light enough for me, but mixing it with some white foundation works very well for me. I find these to be very yellow under-toned, so they may not work for everyone, especially the lighter shades.

I love the look of the packaging! I think it looks really luxurious and I love the frosted glass bottle. Too Faced always knocks it out of the park with packaging, don’t you think?

It has a pump which I like because I find it to be more hygienic, it also dispenses the right amount each time rather than using a dropper and not knowing if the dropper is full.

This foundation claims to have “undetectable” coverage, but it definitely looks like you’re wearing foundation, but I don’t mean that in a bad way. I’m not a huge fan of foundation and I actually really like this one. The coverage is great and can be built up, which I like! I have pretty dry skin and it doesn’t cling to my dry patches a ton, but also doesn’t make me look oily – I think it looks really great. I definitely recommend setting with a powder since it doesn’t really dry down completely (but don’t worry, it won’t leave you greasy/oily!)

This is def my holy grail foundation! What’s your holy grail foundation? Let me know 🙂

Zabana Essentials Haul + Mini Review

by

zabana1

Hey loves! It’s been a little while since I did my last haul and I’ve been promising on instagram that this one would be up soon (I’m just terrible at procrastinating, y’know!!)

So finally, it’s here! Let me tell you a little about Zabana Essentials. Zabana has 100% natural and vegan cosmetics that are handcrafted in California (I love stuff that’s made in the USA!) They have a range of products, like deodorants, a face serum, dry shampoo and even an armpit detox bar (say whaaa?!) I’ve been trying these out over the past few weeks & I’m hooked, so keep on reading to see what I got and what I like about them!

zabana2

I’m a sucker for anything mini sized and also natural deodorants! I was intrigued by the fragrances they have available and how some are baking soda free (which I need since baking soda irritates the crap outta me). These definitely aren’t your typical natural deo smells and I love that. I picked up Lime Berry Basil  and Sage Blood Orange. These are the perfect size to shove in your purse or backpack! I currently have the Lime Berry Basil one in my locker at work and I love freshening up with it, it smells so goooood. I do recommend these if you’re looking for a new natural deo or just want to stock up on some minis! (Plus! They’d be a great gift for someone who wants to delve into the natural deo/green beauty world *hint hint*)

I live off of dry shampoo and don’t know what I would do without it. I haven’t tried a powder dry shampoo so that’s really why I picked this up! Plus, the scent caught my eye. It’s really easy to use – just sprinkle some on, let it sit then style per usual. (They recommend using a ‘natural bristled brush’ but I just use my regular hairbrush and it works fine. I also like to rub it in with my fingers). It smells great and does a really good job at making my hair look like it was just washed. I dooooo recommend!

I wanted to try out their face sprays so I got both of the ones that they offer. Lavender Lemongrass is for combo + oily skin and helps to detoxify and balance the skin. Citron Blossom is for all skin types and brightens and rejuvenates the skin. I use one or the other depending on my face issues. Usually I like to use the Citron Blossom one before putting on my makeup to help get it ready for application. If you want, you can also use these as a cleanser (sort of) – just spray it on then use a cotton round to remove excess dirt and oil. I love that these are in glass bottles so I can reuse them when I finish them off! I really like these and do recommend them as well.

Then lastly, the Armpit Detox Bar! When using natural deo (or transitioning into natural deo), you may find that you don’t smell as fresh or that it’s not working…that’s why you need to detox yo’ pits! This is made with Coconut, Charcoal and Clay so it’ll really suck out all the junk stuck in your pit pores and leave you with squeaky clean pits 🙂 They say to wet the bar, lather it in your hands, rub the lather in your pits then let it sit for 2-3 minutes then rinse off. I have noticed a difference when using this – I smell fresher for longer and I just feel more comfortable wearing natural deodorant when I use it. It’s definitely a must have for natural deo users, so get one stat!

Overall, I was super pleased with my first purchase from Zabana. They have amazing cruelty free, vegan + natural products and I can’t wait to try out all of the other stuff they have to offer. Do you want to try out Zabana Essentials? Let me know!
