Finally, another cruelty free on a budget post! Hope you guys weren’t waiting for it for too long…;) Today’s post is going to be alllllllll about how to give your shower products a cruelty free makeover. There are TONS of cruelty free options that are budget friendly! You just need to do lots of research and find things that work for you.

Body Wash

One of my favorite things is a great smelling body wash. Pictured above is the Everyday Coconut Shower Cream in Coconut Mint. It smells great and I’m pretty sure it’s all natural. I own it and I use it every time in the shower. Some other options are Fruits & Passion (my mom bought me one of their shower creams when she visited Canada and I love it!), Pacifica (they have a variety of different scents), Lush (great products, but somewhat pricey), Shea Moisture and I’m sure that there are plenty more.

Shaving Cream

Who needs shaving cream anyways when you probably already have coconut oil? I use coconut oil to shave my legs and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I have incredibly sensitive skin and shaving just makes it 10 times worse, I can’t avoid razor burn or skin irritation with regular shaving cream. Oil and water don’t mix, so that’s also another reason why I like it. Shaving cream usually just rinses off half your leg while you’re working on a section, so the coconut oil just kind of sticks there so you can oil your leg up and not have to worry about wasting product by applying 2 or 3 handfuls of product. Coconut oil also moisturizes your legs and leaves them feeling baby smooth. If you feel the need to have a cruelty free shaving cream though, here are some options for you! Companies like Alba Botanica, Lush, and Kiss My Face carry cruelty free shaving creams. (Try out the coconut oil first though!)

Shampoo & Conditioner

Pictured above is Hask’s Monoi Coconut Oil Conditioner, I have a review on the whole collection here. Hask’s products are cruelty free and paraben free and they are very budget friendly. They work amazingly and I use them every time I’m in the shower. You can get Hask’s products at Ulta, Target or usually any other local store. Again, Alba Botantica, Lush, Pacifica (exclusive to Ulta I believe) and Shea Moisture carry different types of shampoos and conditioners as well as hair treatments.

Feminine Wash

I know most people say you shouldn’t wash your downstairs with soaps, but sometimes you just need to feel a little bit fresher and water just won’t do the trick. I wouldn’t suggest using a feminine wash everyday, but once in a while when you do need to freshen up shouldn’t be a huge issue. They can be helpful though to restore your pH balance which can help fight off bacteria and yeast infections. Pictured above is a feminine wash from The Honey Pot. They have a few different types of feminine washes in different scents and for different issues you may have. I’m not sure what other brands carry a cruelty free feminine wash, but remember you can use water and try not to get any soaps near your hoohah if they aren’t meant to be there!

I hope you enjoy the post and that you found some new products to try out in the future! Do you use any of these already? Let me know in the comments below 🙂

Hask Mint Almond Oil Collection | Review *

allIf you didn’t already know, I love Hask’s products. I did a ravin’ review on their Monoi Coconut Oil collection which you can check out here. I was able to try out the Mint Almond Oil collection and my expectations were high and I definitely wasn’t disappointed. I have ultra thin hair so when I noticed that these products had a Bio 3 thickening complex in them, I was even more thriller. It’s so hard for me to get volume in my hair and make it look full, so I was really hoping these products could help me out – and they did! All of the products were sent over in this adorable bag too, that I definitely will be traveling with.

First up, the shampoo and conditioner. They have a great minty smell and invigorate your scalp (just like the bottle says!) I can get a really nice lather with the shampoo and love the way it feels, it leaves me hair feeling refreshed after I rinse it out. I realllllllllly focus it on my roots to help add some volume. After I rinse it all out, I apply the conditioner mainly focusing on the ends, and then I take the little bit of excess and add it up closer to my roots. I leave it on for a little bit then rinse it out and it leaves my hair feeling so soft and smooth. These products don’t weigh your hair down, which I love.

Next is the root thickening spray. Smells just like the shampoo and conditioner and I think the pop of color on the bottle is so cute. (Hask has such cute packaging, I love it). It says to use on towel dried hair and to focus it on your roots then blow dry your hair or you can use it on dry hair for an added lift. I’ve done both and I prefer to use it when I blow out my hair, just to add a little bit more volume. It also adds some nice texture which I like. The only downside with this product is that you can accidentally use too much, and it will cause some buildup at your roots. So I would start by using a little bit then work your way up until you find the right amount that works for you. It doesn’t make you feel or look greasy though, which is a great plus. I really like this stuff and I’m pleased with the volume it adds to my hair.

Overall, I highly recommend these products if you have thin, fine hair. They’re about the same price as the other collection I used and can be found at Ulta, Walmart, Walgreens and other stores.

Thanks for reading! Have you used these before or want to use them now? Let me know below 🙂

Disclaimer: Yes, this product was sent to me to review, but sponsorships/items sent to me do not alter my opinion in anyway. I’m here to help you (my readers) to find new products that you may have never heard about. I am all about giving 100% reviews, whether I’m paid for the review, sent the item or I purchase it myself. Just something to keep in mind for my past/future reviews.
