HASK Chia Seed Oil Volumizing Collection Review *

I have extremely fine, straight hair – so getting volume in my hair is always tough. Most products I use for volume leave my hair feeling gross or looking like it had too much product in it, which I hate. If you’ve been here for a while, you probably remember some of my past HASK hair reviews (Bamboo Oil, Mint Almond Oil, and Monoi Coconut Oil), well here’s another! The Chia Seed Oil collection is formulated for adding volume to your hair, without drying it out and you won’t need to put in any extra effort by blow-drying your hair upside down (which is a win for me, since my hair is usually dry and I hate blow-drying my hair!) I’ve used it quite a few times and I’m super happy with the results, so if you want to read my review on the Chia Seed Oil collection, keep on reading!

What makes Chia Seed Oil important?

  • Chia seeds are full of hair-volumizing proteins, antioxidants and shine enhancing nutrients like omega-3s
  • HydraBoost helps your hair during every wash by lifting lifeless locks without weighing hair down

The shampoo is awesome. It smells great, lathers well and doesn’t dry my hair out (which is a huge issue, especially with the cold weather now!) It feels really nice on the scalp and doesn’t remove all of the oils that your hair needs. It’s super gentle and that’s why I love it!

Since I was happy with the shampoo, I knew I was going to be happy with the conditioner too! HASK’s conditioners are awesome and I love every single one I’ve tried. A little bit goes a long way (same for the shampoo too!), which is another reason why I love HASK’s hair care sooooo much! They’re inexpensive too and can be found at Ulta, Walgreens, Kmart, Cvs and other stores as well.

I highly recommend this collection if you have fine, thin hair like I do – it surely won’t disappoint! If volume isn’t what you’re looking for, check out my other reviews on their collection to find what collection is right for you! The Bamboo Oil collection is great for strengthening the hair, Mint Almond Oil is great for thickening the hair and Monoi Coconut Oil is the best for adding needed moisture to your locks.

I hope you enjoyed the post and that you’ll pick up some products from HASK – you won’t regret it!

Ulta Haul

Rae’s spending all of her money again – what’s new?! Today’s a haul from Ulta! I decided to pick up a few things during their 20% off event (I think that’s what it was…I can’t remember now). So I picked up a few goodies for myself! (Two things not pictured was some purple shampoo that I got (which you can see leaked onto my melted ornament LOL) and a new replacement head for my Clarisonic).

Since I tried out some products from derma e, I wanted to grab something else. I’ve been looking for a new facial scrub since I ran out of the Pacifica one I was using and was intrigued by this one! I liked that it had charcoal in it, since I’m breaking out a little bit. I’ve used it a couple times and I like it! It leaves me feeling refreshed and squeaky clean. I also like the cooling effect it has on the skin when rinsing (don’t know if that’s just me or if that’s normal LOL).

(Oooo gurl, look at that cute eczema on my thumb)

I wanted to try out another Melted lipstick! I have a couple other minis, but one went through the washing machine and one is a bright barbie pink – so I decided to grab a color I could sport this fall/winter. This is the color berry and this is $12 if you’re interested in it!

I love the formula of the Melted lipsticks and how they apply so I do recommend them 🙂

Oh and what do you know? Another Melted lipstick! This one is full size and in the color Chihuahua. I had a mini of this one (it went through the wash) so I decided to grab the full size one since I liked the color so much. It’s gorggggg and is a really nice shade to rock everyday.

Here’s a swatch of both of them, Chiauauau is on the top and Berry is on the bottom. I do want to apologize for the horrible picture/color quality (they look better in person) but I’m experimenting with the lighting in my room since we don’t really get natural light where my room is in the house 🙁 I grabbed a right light for my camera and I don’t think I’m a big fan of it, so I’ll have to try something new I guess!

Anyways, that’s my haul! I didn’t get too much, which is surprising. But I’m happy with what I got! I think I’m done with buying makeup/skincare products for a while – I pretty much have everything I need! (I am getting a package from tarte shortly with the makeup kit they had on special, so do expect a post about that – but NOW I’m done buying makeup! Don’t let me!)

I hope you enjoyed the post!

What have you picked up recently? Let me know in the comments below 🙂

ABH Stick Foundation Review

I’ve been on the hunt for a foundation that I truly love and can’t live without…I’m still on the hunt. I want a foundation to be able to cover my blemishes, without looking to heavy and one that doesn’t make me look too dry AND one that I don’t have to mix with a white foundation- is that too much to ask for? Probably. I picked up the ABH Stick Foundation on a whim, especially because of their amazing color selection. I picked mine up in Alabaster and surprisingly, it’s a pretty good match. Most of the colors in this line are towards a yellow undertone (I believe) so it may not be suitable for everyone. I also purchased this before I realized it was for oily skin but decided to try it out anyways. Curious about what I think of it? Keep on reading!

ABH claims:

A highly pigmented, buildable cream formula that leaves a natural matte finish. Apply Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Foundation as an all-over foundation, sheered out as a tinted moisturizer, or for highlighting and contouring.

The stick is $25 which is cheaper than most stick foundations, but it comes with a lot less product, so pick your poison.

I do agree that it is highly pigmented (I apologize for the horrid swatch, but top is the foundation blended and bottom is it just plain). The foundation has a dry texture to it, but it does apply smoothly (not sure how that’s possible, but just trust me!) I usually do three lines on each section of my face, but you can start with a thin layer and build up your coverage. I like to blend mine out with a brush, I’m not sure how it would blend out with a sponge to be honest with you. Some say that it’s tough to blend out, but I didn’t have a problem. I would also like to point out that I do have dry skin, it does cling to dry patches but that doesn’t bother me too much. I wore this with the Too Faced Hangover Primer and it separated horribly on me after a few hours of wear, so I definitely won’t be doing that again.

  • Color Selection
  • Price
  • Easy to apply & blend – go to foundation when in rush
  • Convenient for travel
  • Not too drying, but does cling to dry patches (doesn’t make you look textured!!!)

  • Not a lot of product
  • Stick broke after 3rd use (I can still use it, but still)
  • Separated with Too Faced Hangover Primer (maybe just in my case)

As you can see, I think the pros outweigh the cons! I do have to admit that this isn’t my favorite foundation, and I probably could live without it, but it is a pretty good foundation for the price and quality of ABH.

Have you tried a stick foundation out? Let me know what kind and how you liked it!

I hope you enjoyed the post.
