The Four Pairs of Shoes You Need This Summer

Screen Shot 2016-07-10 at 12.47.58 PM

I’m a shoeaholic, but what female isn’t? I’m sure if I bring home one more pair of black boots, my boyfriend might kick me out.

Today’s post is about the shoes that you need in your closet this summer (or even year round) and I’ll let you know why you need them!

Powder Pink Sneakers from H&M $13

I love sneakers because I feel like they can add some spunk to your outfits. You can dress them up or down, wear them with socks, or without (if you want smelly feet, but hey, I won’t judge!) I think these powder pink sneaks are perfect for summer and will compliment any outfit. I would definitely wear these with some lace topped socks (like these!)

Silver Strappy Sandals from H&M $13

I’m not a flip flop person, I just feel like they’re weird shoes so I like to stick to sandals. (I know that sounds strange). I think sandals also look better than flip flops do, but that’s just me. I ain’t hating on the flops, they just aren’t my thing. These strappy sandals from H&M are super cute and inexpensive. I love the silver finish in these because they’re a little bit different. I think these would look cute with a flowy dress, or even a nice casual outfit.

Double Up Faux Leather Block Heels from GoJane $17

These are the cutest sandal-heel hybrid. (I recently purchased them for myself and I can’t wait for them to come in). I think these lil’ heels will spice up any outfit and I personally will be wearing them with my summer dresses. You could dress up a casual outfit and look like you spent lots of money to look cute, but you didn’t. If I end up liking them enough, I might get them in black too. I think these could also work in spring too. They are a must have!

Faux Suede Slingback Booties from F21 $30

These are the perfect going out shoes! The heel isn’t too high, so they will be comfortable. They even have a cute peep toe so you can show off your fresh pedicure. Everyone needs a good lil’ black pair of booties for every season, and these should be your summer go-tos. I need to get myself a pair like these!

I hope you enjoyed today’s post! Thanks for much for reading, as always <3

Are You Doing Enough To Protect Your Skin?

Many of us make a conscious effort to eat well and keep fit, but are you doing enough to protect your skin? If you’re looking for ways to make your skin softer, brighter and clearer, here are some top tips.

Establishing a skin care regime
Your skin is your body’s protective barrier against the elements, and it has to put up with a lot. To keep your skin looking and feeling soft and smooth, it’s essential to look after it. Your skin care regime will help to remove impurities and keep your complexion clean and clear. Ideally, you should cleanse, tone and moisturize daily using products, which suit your skin type. If you’re not sure of your skin type, it’s well worth booking a consultation with a skincare expert.

On top of daily maintenance, it’s also beneficial to exfoliate your skin once a week. You can do this by using your normal face wash with an exfoliating mitt or using an exfoliating scrub. There are also professional treatments you can try, such as microdermabrasion or a chemical peel. The aim of exfoliation is to remove dead skin cells. This makes your skin look brighter and younger. It also encourages the production of new skin cells. Take a look at  to find out more about

Protecting your skin in the sun
There’s nothing quite like the feel of the sun on your skin, especially after a long, chilly winter. The sun can lift your spirits and give your skin a gorgeous glow, but it can also be damaging. If you’re going on holiday or sitting out in the garden, always make sure you apply sunscreen. This will help to prevent sunburn and reduce your risk of skin cancer. Sun lotion also helps to nourish and moisturize your skin and delay the aging process.

On sunny days, it’s best to avoid sitting out during the hottest part of the day. Head for the shade and make sure you drink plenty of water.

Lifestyle choices
The choices you make can have a significant impact on your skin. While a healthy diet and regular exercise can have incredible benefits for your complexion, smoking can be very damaging. Smoking is one of the main causes of premature aging, and it also contributes to dryness and dullness. If you’re looking to improve your skin tone and texture, working out and eating well are good places to start. When you exercise, your circulation increases. This ensures important nutrients are delivered to your skin. A healthy diet ensures that your body gets all the vitamins and minerals it needs. Foods that are good for your skin include berries, green leafy vegetables, nuts, salmon, and avocados. You can find out more about healthy eating at

Your skin is one of your most important and noticeable features. Keep an eye on your diet and take plenty of water on board. Devote time to your skin care routine and always wear sunscreen. If you look after your skin, you’ll look radiant and youthful for years to come.

Hope you found these tips helpful and that you enjoyed the post!

Spring Outfit Inspiration

Spring will be here before we know it, and I may or may not be counting down the days until… Spring is one of my favorite seasons because it’s not too hot or too cold, I also feel like a lot of good things just happen during spring. Anyone else?

I put together a few outfits on Polyvore that are totally spring appropriate and really cute. I hope you get some inspiration from these outfits, tag me on twitter or instagram if you do!

This one is called Addison and features mainly black clothing, which may not seem spring like but some people just feel more comfortable and confident in darker colors (me included). This is a very simple outfit that you could pull off with things you already have in your closet! I’m totally loving the Nike Roshes as everyday shoes (although I don’t have a pair myself). I think they’re very stylish and popular now. I kept the accessories simple, just a ball cap with a cheeky saying and a chic pair of sunglasses.
This next outfit is called Laura, which is inspired by girls on my campus who wear relaxed clothing but dress it up with accessories. I’m LOVING the boyfriend jean trend that I need to get my hands on a pair (or 5). The tank top adds a nice amount of color and keeps the look relaxed, since it’s flowy and not tight fitting. I’ve also noticed a lot of people wearing white converse, which are very cute but I feel like I would get them dirty within an hour of wearing them. Rose gold is also a trend lately that I’m digging, so the watch and bracelet are perfect to show off your girly style.

Damn Raeanne, back at it again with the boyfriend jeans. (I’m sorry, I saw the chance and I just had to take it.) This is also a very casual outfit that is a little more on the girly side. I think the open knit cardigan is super cute and is a spring staple piece for me, it would also make a great beach coverup in the summer! Dual purposes, people. The nude top is also a staple for me because nude (just like black!) can go with anything and everything. Dress it up, dress it down, go out in THE nude, whatever makes you happy! I added a three layer necklace to this look too, which are also super popular. My favorite youtuber Aspyn has been seeing wearing a three layer necklace lately (p.s. I need one). The shoes are a cute pair of loafers in a light brown, but you could switch them out for a different pair of flats, or even heels if you wanted. And of course, the beautiful boyfriend jeans.

I’m not going to lie, this outfit was totally inspired by the beautiful Carli Bybel. I’m loving the nude trend and also the long jackets/cardigans, I think they’re a great piece to have in your closet. The lace crop top is simple, but elegant and will add a girly vibe to your outfit, or maybe I should say more feminine since that sounds more grown up. I’m a huge fan of dark wash jeans too, I think they make you look a little bit more put together than light wash jeans (which to be honest, is pretty much all I have.) The shoes! I love shoes and these heels are giving me life right now. I love the wood heel/platform, very chic and stylish and I love the ankle strap. Lastly, a pearl/marble-like clutch with gold accents is really cute and easy to grab and store everything you need with you to take on your day or night.
What outfit would you like to rock? Let me know in the comments below 🙂
I have a few more posts coming up soon-ish! I just have a lot of school work lately that I need to get done because school obviously comes first 🙂
