Valentia Skin Detoxifying Mask Review (Sort Of) *

by

2016-05-22 19.48.00Hey everyone! I’m finally done with finals and moved back home so now I can hopefully focus more on my blog and YouTube channel! Sorry that it has been a while since consistently posting, but I hope you understand that I had to get my butt into action and finish the semester strong…ANYWAYS, enough chatting…let’s get into what today’s post is about.

If you’ve been around my blog for a while, you know that I have tried out some of Valentia’s products before. So, here I am with another review (sort of) of their Skin Detoxifying Mask. Let’s talk about it’s benefits first.

2016-05-22 19.48.37

This mask has:

Kaolin Clay: Clay minerals draw impurities, improve skin tone, and tighten pores for smoother firmer skin.

Plant Stem Cells: Naturally decreases the level of pro-aging toxins and works to soother the skin, reduce redness, and improve evenness.

Spirulina: A botanical stimulant full of vitamins that hydrates the skins surface and contributes to tissue regeneration of the skin.

CoQ10: Lessens the appearance of wrinkles by reducing free radical damage and stimulating health collagen production.

Hibiscus & Cranberry Fibers: Both lend their anti-aging properties to firm and reinforce the skin, helping to reduce the creation of new wrinkles.

2016-05-22 19.49.02

With all of these specially selected ingredients, it seems that this mask pretty much does it all! It draws out oil, dirt and other impurities, improves your skin tone and texture, plus leaves your skin feeling smooth and refreshed. There are a few long term results too that you can expect to see, such as smaller pores, firmer skin and clearer skin with less breakouts.

Now, to the review. I unfortunately was not really able to try this product out since my skin started to get a burning sensation after applying it. I DO have extremely sensitive skin, so I thought I would take it off and try again another day. It did the same thing so I decided to contact Valentia, and they told me that I must be allergic to one of the ingredients (which is possible, since I’ve never really use them before) and to stop using the mask. I really wish I could have tried it out for you guys. I must say that it does have a nice smell and the fibers (from the hibiscus and cranberry) really helped to gently exfoliate the skin as I applied it the two times.

I did want to stay honest with you all and even though I couldn’t use the mask, I wanted to tell you about my experience! Maybe this mask will be a better fit for you, if you’re looking for the benefits that this mask will help you achieve. Check them out on Instagram!

Thanks so much for reading and I hope you have an excellent day!

HASK Bamboo Oil Collection | Review *

by

IMG_1208

IMG_1225IMG_1231You guys know how much I love HASK’s products…it’s nearing an addiction phase. I was thrilled that I got the opportunity to try out their Bamboo Oil collection that’s specifically for strengthening your hair. Here’s what HASK says about this collection on their website…

“It’s time to add strength training to your hair care routine! Fortify fragile hair and defend against damage and breakage with HASK Bamboo Oil Strengthening collection. The line features a Shampoo, Conditioner, Deep Conditioner and Shine Oil, all formulated with ProDefense Complex that penetrates hair to strengthen, reinforce and protect. Bamboo oil, known as one of Asia’s natural treasures, is proven to strengthen hair and deliver essential nutrients that revive weakened and lifeless strands. Combined with biotin and collagen, silicon-rich bamboo oil gives hair a strong foundation, improves flexibility and prevents split ends. So damage caused by every day styling is a thing of the past!”

I don’t know about you, but I start by shampooing my hair first (I know some people who condition first, but I ain’t about that life). This Bamboo Oil Strengthening Shampoo is like magic. It left my hair feeling so smooth and soft (per usual with HASK’s products). It also felt like it had a different texture to it after I rinsed out the shampoo, kind of like it instantly transformed my hair, but maybe that’s just me.
The conditioner really helped to keep my hair feeling soft and smooth, also helped reduce my frizziness without making my hair look or feel oily or greasy (which is important to me). These two work amazingly together, and the ingredients in both with help strengthen your hair in no time!

You might use a mask for your face, but did you know that your hair needs a mask sometimes too? HASK has lots of different hair masks and they have one in this collection too! I’ve used their masks before on nights when I wanted to pamper myself. They come in convenient pouch that comes with 1.75 oz of product, if you have short hair like me, you can definitely get more than one use out of the single pouch. They say to use it 1-2 times a week and to leave it on for 10 minutes (on clean wet hair) then rinse your hair thoroughly. These masks really help to repair your hair and thoroughly nourish all of your locks without leaving your hair greasy or weighed down from residue, it’s a win win.

Hair oils are good to give your hair a little extra TLC and to help reduce frizz and fly aways. I like to use a small amount of oil on my dry hair before leaving for the day. It makes me look polished and like I didn’t just roll out of bed (even though I totally did). This hair oil is great, just like the other one I’ve tried from HASK and I definitely will be using it daily (so I hope they come out with a full size soon 😉 HMU HASK when you do!)

P.s. How cute is this bag I got too!? I used the other one I got while traveling to hold my toiletries and it was awesome! I will definitely put this one to good use too.

So that’s all for today, I hope you enjoyed reading!

MAKE Cosmetics Review + DISCOUNT CODE! *

Hey lovelies! Welcome back to my blog. For today’s post I’ll giving you guys some swatch pictures and my honest review of some sample products that I got from MAKE Beauty! Their products are proudly made in New York City. All of their products are hypoallergenic, made without parabens and never tested on animals. They are a little bit pricey, but I feel like sometimes you just need to spoil yourself and buy some great products. (And I definitely will be buying the full size of these products + some more after I was able to try these!)

So, I was luckily able to receive a sample of their Matte Finish Eyeshadow in Alabaster. It’s a velvety matte powder that goes on smoothly and is extremely pigmented. The shadow is a oil-free formula that is crease-resistant and looks great all day long. It is formulated with Vitamin C and E for antioxidant protection for your delicate eye area. These shadows are able to be used dry or wet, if you want a more intense finish. They have tons of colors so you will definitely find one (or 4) that you like!

I think Alabaster is an amazing color for all over the lid and would be a really great base shadow for everyone. It is so smooth and pigmented. It isn’t powdery at all, but I expected that since it is a little bit more expensive than other brands, but I think it’s worth it. I definitely will be purchasing the full size to add to my eyeshadow collection.

Here is a swatch on my very pale skin…

I was also able to try a sample of their Silk Cream Lipstick in the color Taffy. This is a saturated lipstick that also acts as a moisturizing treatment with antioxidant vitamins, rosehip, soybean and safflower oils. There is also aloe and chamomile extracts that will further condition lips. The lipstick is a feather-resistant formula and all of the colors are intensely pigmented in true-wear shades.

Taffy is a beautiful color. It’s a very subtle pink with purple undertones. It applied so smoothly on my lips and didn’t settle into the fine line on my lips. It feels like I’m not wearing anything on my lips, which I do like. It’s a cream lipstick so it won’t dry you out like matte lipsticks. I am in love with this color and wish I could marry it, if that was legal. I truly recommend it if you are looking for a new subtle everyday shade that you won’t ever get tired of. I will also be purchasing the full size to also add to my lipstick collection.

Here is a swatch of Taffy…
