Hey lovelies! So today’s post is all about Red Apple Lipstick! They have gluten free makeup that’s vegan, non-GMO, paraben free & free of a lot of other toxins that are hidden in our makeup. All of their products are made in the USA (yay!) and they’re actually the number 1 trusted gluten free makeup company. You’re probably asking why gluten free cosmetics are important, so I’ll let you know why! I’m personally not sensitive to gluten and do not have celiac disease, but those who do have to be careful what they eat and use in their toiletries and cosmetics because they can have a reaction to the gluten in the products. I think that it’s super cool that there are options out there for people who have to use certain product, especially if they avoided cosmetics because of their sensitivity. Also, don’t let their name fool you, they also sell eyeshadows, mascaras, eyeliners and more.
I got my lipsticks in this cute drawstring bag – I love these things for traveling to store my jewelry or other small goodies. I also had a very nice personalized message by Sharon who packaged my order – it’s things like these that create good customer-company bonds that will make you want to keep purchasing. I got two lipsticks and I got a sample of their “Maven Mauve” lipstick. They also included some business cards to bring to your favorite store so maybe they can wholesale RAL products – another neat thing!
I think that the packaging is really pretty, I love the texture on the bottom of the tube, there’s also “Red Apple Lipstick” sort of like “embossed” on the cap…
Ignore my chipped nail polish, but here’s what I was talking about! I think the packaging is sophisticated and I really do love it.
This is Gypsy Soul which is described as a brick red with brown undertones and definitely that signature “90’s” lip color. (The texture on the lipstick is from condensation since they were in my hot mailbox, just in case you thought it was shimmer or something else.)
Here’s a lil lame selfie of lil ol’ me wearing Gypsy Soul. It went on super creamy and felt hydrating on the lips. It definitely has a cream finish and they say it will stain your lips as it starts to dry/wear off. I didn’t wear it long enough to test that out, but I really do love the color and can’t wait to use it a lot during the fall.
This next shade is Ooh La La which is described as a dusty rose that’s perfect for any occasion and I agree! It’s a gorgeous color that will easily become your go-to shade. This has the same quality as Gypsy Soul, (which is kind of obvi Rae…) and again, feels great on the lips. (The texture on the lipstick is due to condensation which I said earlier :)) I am definitely putting this on my “top-shelf” and I will be grabbing it every day, I’m sure.
Again, a selfie of lil ol’ me wearing Ooh La La, I definitely need to take better pictures of me wearing the lipsticks, but this will do for now, right?
Here are swatches on my hand in natural lighting. The one on the left is Gypsy Soul and the right is Ooh La La. I finally picked lipstick shades that aren’t too similar – who knew I was capable of that?!
While these lipsticks are pricey (but compared to tarte, Too Faced and other high end brands they’re similarly priced), I highly recommend them! They have an amazing formula and they have a range of finishes and colors. I can’t wait to try some of their other products in the future!
