Happy Thursday everyone! So I’ve mentioned Pacifica a couple times in my guide to going cruelty free on a budget but I hadn’t used a lot of their products. I would use my sisters face wash from Pacifica when I was home though, and I enjoyed it. I grabbed two items from Ulta and I got a free gift of their energizing serum wipes with my purchase, but totally forgot to photograph them, but I will talk about them in the post!
So I’ve seen micellar waters on the market for a little bit now and I’ve always wanted to try one since they looked like they would work, but all the ones I’ve seen before were not cruelty free. I’m glad I spotted this one from Pacifica. It retails at $12 and you get 8 fluid ounces in the bottle. It is also vegan which is great! It claims it will remove stubborn makeup and tone your skin without you having to rinse it off afterwards (I’m not sure if you have to wash off other micellar waters?) This tonic also has cactus and floral waters in it which help to leave your skin feeling refreshed without over drying. I pour some onto a cotton round and rub it on my face, going towards my hairline so theres less skin pulling. I think it works great and is affective. Definitely do not use it on the eyes, it’s meant for your face and neck. I like to use it to take off my makeup or cleanse my face when it’s bare to remove dirt and oils. I also like that it doesn’t have an overwhelming smell. I will definitely be repurchasing it!
Next I picked up the Pore Refine Deep Detox Mask, which retails at $18 for 1.5 ounces of product. I know that’s pricey for a mask, but it works and I love it. I have a lot of blackheads on my nose and my chin, I’ve also been getting some on my forehead for whatever reason. No matter what I do, I just can’t seem to shrink them or get rid of them, so I thought heck, why not? I’ll try it, what do I have to lose besides money (typical Raeanne). The mask claims to fight shininess and clogged pores and refine them. It has medicinal ingredients in it to help reduce the size of your pores, unclog them, remove excess sebum oils and toxins without over drying the skin. It says its for normal to oily skin types, I have dry skin and I haven’t had an issue with it drying out my skin even more. It has a gelatin like consistency (maybe thinner, yes a lot thinner) and smells like strawberries, which some people may find over powering but I love the smell. It’s a clear mask, which I like so I don’t look like a green monster walking around my suite. It says to leave it on for 5-20 minutes, I leave it on for 20. It’s not irritating and doesn’t tighten your skin like a clay mask would. After you leave it on for your desired time, you just rinse it off with water. I follow with a moisturizer. It left my skin feeling so smooth and soft and my pores definitely looked smaller when I woke up the next morning. This is something you would have to use weekly and stick to that regimen. I will definitely be using it religiously, as I’ve noticed a difference each time I use it.
Since I liked these products so much, I of course had to purchase some more of their products which will be coming in this weekend (I also purchased a few different makeup items that will be coming in shortly and I will let you guys know all about them!) I’m excited to try their other products out and I think I may had just found my new favorite skincare products.
Thank you so much for reading and I hope you had an excellent week! What’s something great that’s happened to you this week? Let me know in the comments below!
Xoxo, Rae
